Sanfilippo Syndrome is a rare genetic disease that causes fatal brain damage in children. There isn’t a cure, but there is hope that a treatment will be found. You can make a difference to these children and their families.
A team of adventurous supporters will trek the legendary Kokoda track to raise money for Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation. The money raised will go towards funding research projects focused on finding treatments to stop the progression of the disease, repair the damage and improve the quality of life experienced by children suffering from the condition.
About this adventure
Follow in the footsteps of the heroic Diggers on the historic single-file path through Papua New Guinea’s spectacular landscapes. Starting at Kokoda Station, you’ll spend the next eight days hiking under the canopies of tropical rainforests, up the steep ascents of the Owen Stanley Range, over river crossings, and through historic WWII battlefields. You’ll have time to reflect on the day’s experience over a home-cooked evening meal, before retiring to your bed for a well-earned rest.
