What is HOPEtober?
HOPEtober is a community fundraising event for the Sanfilippo Children's Foundation. We are challenging you, our supporters, to set yourself a goal in the month of October. The great thing about this challenge is that you get to choose a goal that works for you. It can be a fitness goal, breaking a bad habit, starting a new habit, or anything else you can think of. You can even do a combination if you really want a challenge. Your other important goal in this challenge is to raise funds for research into a cure for this heartbreaking childhood dementia.
How do I register for HOPEtober?
Click here to go to the registration form for HOPEtober! This form will also allow you to set up your fundraising page. Once you have registered you can change or update your blog and fundraising goal at any time by logging into your account.
How do I reset my password?
If you can’t login to your fundraising page, there may be an issue with your password. To reset your password, click on ‘Login’ at the top right hand side of this page and select ‘Forgot password’.
How can I join a team?
You can join a public team by clicking on the "Join us" button on the teams fundraising page. If the team is set to private you will need to ask the team captain to send you an invite.
How can I create a team after I’ve registered?
Once you’ve registered, you can create a team by logging into your page and clicking ‘Create a Team’ on your fundraising dashboard.
Where do the funds go?
Every dollar you raise will drive cutting-edge research projects aimed at halting disease progression, reversing the damage caused by the condition, and improving the quality of life for children with Sanfilippo.
Importantly too, your support will show families they are not facing this devastating disease alone.
Do you have anything to help me with my fundraising?
The fundraising toolbox page on our website has lots of tips and tools to help you raise money but one of the easiest ways is to ask family and friends.
How can people donate?
Ask your friends and family to donate directly to your fundraising page. That way the money will come to the Sanfilippo Children's Foundation automatically, and they will receive a tax receipt instantly. If you’ve been given cash, you can donate the money to your fundraising page on their behalf using a credit or debit card.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
How do I update my fundraising page?
To update your fundraising page, simply click login in the menu and log in to your fundraising page with your email address and password. Click on ‘Edit My Page’ and update then you can update your fundraising target, profile picture or blog. You can also add pictures of your challenge. It is a great way to keep prople updated on how you are going. Also, if you hit your fundraising target before 31 October, consider increasing your target!
Why aren't the donations I am receiving through Facebook showing up on my fundraising page?
Facebook donations are handled and held by a third party, so we can’t sync these donations with the HOPEtober campaign due to limitations with the Facebook Donate button functionality. Given these limitations, we advise you not to use the Facebook Donate button to raise funds.
If you’d like your friends and family to donate to you, we encourage you to share the link to your fundraising page on your social media pages instead.
Can I log my activity?
As every participant's challenge may be different to the next person, we do not have the functionality to sync your fitness goals with your fundraising page. However, we would love to see you updating your blog with your achievements and sharing this with your family and friends.
