The Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation is thrilled to announce another addition to our esteemed Scientific Advisory Board. Please join us in welcoming Associate Professor Karin Borges. A neuroscientist, Karin is Head of the Neurological Disorders and Metabolism laboratory at University of Queensland School of Biomedical Science.
Assoc. Prof. Borges is one of the world's experts in brain metabolism and she has had great impact in researching metabolic treatment for Epilepsy, Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and other neurological disorders.
"[Sanflippo Syndrome] is very hard on the children and families. I want to help to find treatments and an early diagnostic test. As a neuroscientist with experience in translation, I can help the Foundation to identify promising research projects that have the capacity to help children and families quickly."
