World Sanfilippo Awareness Day, held every year on 16 November, aims to spread awareness and spark conversations globally about Sanfilippo syndrome. This special day honours individuals and families around the world living with Sanfilippo syndrome today, and those who have passed away.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the progress made to date via our ten year impact report showing the gains in Sanfilippo research over the past ten years.

We'd love your help to acknowledge and share this important day. This year there are lots of ways to get involved...

  • Host a 'Sprinkles for Sanfilippo' morning tea at your workplace, school or community centre to help raise awareness and funds. You can collect gold coin donations, ask people to donate online, or set up your own event fundraising page and share the link. Downloadable resources are at the bottom of this page to help you make your morning tea a success!
  • Head to a special landmark lit up purple in honour of World Sanfilippo Awareness Day and share a selfie on social media
  • Tell people it's World Sanfilippo Awareness Day and share our website
  • Help the search for a cure through making a donation.

HOST A SPRINKLES FOR SANFILIPPO MORNING TEA

Morning tea is the best meal of the day. It's that perfect time where you can indulge in breakfasty foods, sweet treats, savoury bites or even salad if you fancy... anything goes!

Why not let your imagination run wild and host a 'Sprinkles for Sanfilippo' morning tea with your friends, family, school or community group? Sprinkles go with anything - cupcakes, drinks, icecream, sausage rolls (ok you might want to use some sesame seeds instead) and the Australian classic of fresh white bread smeared with butter, aka Fairy Bread.

We've included some resources below to help you get started.

Thank you!
